Packaging Guidelines

A properly packed shipment is the single most important condition for damage-free delivery. Take a few minutes.

1. Choose the right box

Use a sturdy, new corrugated cardboard box that can take the weight of the item. Previously used, dented or damp boxes lose their strength in transit.

  • Up to 5 kg: a single-wall box is sufficient.
  • Between 5 and 20 kg: choose a double-wall box.
  • Above 20 kg: use a double-wall box plus corner reinforcement.

2. Do not skip the cushioning

Leave at least 5 cm of cushioning in every direction between the item and the wall of the box. You should not hear any movement inside when you shake the box.

  • Wrap fragile items in at least two layers of bubble wrap.
  • Fill the gaps with air pillows, foam or paper padding.
  • Wrap multiple items separately so that they do not touch each other.

3. Seal the box properly

Tape the top and bottom seams in an H pattern. Use packing tape at least 5 cm wide; clear office tape or string is not sufficient.

4. Prepare the label

Stick the label you created in the panel onto the largest surface of the box, unfolded and with the barcode readable. Remove or completely cover any old labels and barcodes.

5. Special items

Some items require extra precautions:

  • Liquids: a leak-proof cap plus a second waterproof bag is mandatory.
  • Electronics: use an antistatic bag and do not forget the lithium battery declaration.
  • Glass and ceramics: add corner protectors and a "Fragile" label.
  • Food: the expiry date must outlast the transit time.

6. Declaring weight and dimensions

The charge is based on whichever is greater: the actual weight or the volumetric weight. Volumetric weight = (length x width x height in cm) / 5000. If your declaration does not match reality, the difference is added to your invoice, so measure the parcel after sealing it.
